Every year, the ICTP will try to arrange a group volunteer at the Damiano Center. This is a great opportunity especially for our young ones to appreciate Allah's blessings. By helping the poor and needy, not only are we contributing to society, we will come to appreciate how fortunate we are in comparison to many other people. This is the least we can do with our neighbors in Duluth. The program starts at about 1:30pm and goes on till 6:30pm. The 5-10 volunteers are divided into three groups, the cooks, servers and cleaners. The cooking group start work at 1:30pm and are expected to complete before 5pm when the serving starts. The serving group will portion the food and serve at the counter, while the cleaning group will start cleaning up the kitchen and the dining area after 5pm. Several staff members from the Damiano center will be supervising. We will need food to feed at least 200-300 people including rice, meats and vegetables.
